Wash day used to be something I dreaded—both for me and for my toddler. But now? It’s turned into a special kind of bonding time. A slow, intentional moment in the week where we focus on care, connection, and creating healthy hair habits that feel more like love than a chore. šŸ’—

This week, we had our full setup ready to go:

šŸ› Her pink shield cap to keep the water out of her eyes (because nobody likes surprise splashes).

šŸ’¦ Our @shampoobuddy basin — which I may or may not be using backwards šŸ˜‚ but hey, it’s working!

šŸ“± Her iPad for a little entertainment (Bluey saves the day).

✨ And of course, a full lineup of @frobabies products that we absolutely love.

Here’s the full wash day routine:

  1. Honey Bubbles Moisturizing Shampoo – Gentle and perfect for little curls.

  2. So Super Soft Conditioner – Makes her hair soft and easier to manage.

  3. Detangle Me Baby Leave-In Conditioner – Keeps those curls hydrated and helps us avoid the dreaded knots.

  4. UNbrush by @fhiheat – This brush is my secret weapon. It glides through her curls without the drama or tears.

We’ve finally found a rhythm that works—no more crying, no more rushed chaos. Just deep breaths, patience, and soft affirmations. I’m still learning what she likes, how she likes her hair touched, and when she needs a break. But that’s the beauty of it—we’re learning together. šŸ’•

Wash day is no longer about ā€œgetting it done.ā€ It’s about teaching her that taking care of herself can feel good, and that her hair is beautiful, worthy of time, and deserving of gentle care.

If you’re a mama still figuring it all out, just know—there’s no ā€œperfectā€ way to do this. But with the right tools (and a little grace), wash day can become something your child actually looks forward to. šŸ’«
